An introduction to Bermuda's Botanical Gardens

Save Inspirational Space

The Botanical Gardens in Paget is one of Bermuda’s major attractions. It is a mix of park, woodland, greenhouses, agricultural buildings and horticultural collections. It is a Bermuda National Park under the Bermuda National Parks Act 1986.

The 35-acre landscaped park contains hundreds of clearly identified flowers, shrubs and trees, including a vast collection of subtropical fruit, orchids, hibiscus, an aviary, banyan trees and a garden for the blind.

Many trees produce scented flowers that fill the air with perfume.

The Botanical Gardens is the site of the Annual Agricultural Exhibition, when local farmers, school children and amateur exhibitors bring out their produce, flowers, handicraft and baked goods to compete. This 3-day event takes place in late April each year and fun for the whole family.

Hopefully someone in the Government actually cares what people think, we didnt get very far with the referendum petition, so far, build the Hospital somewhere where it doesnt matter, ie the city

I frequent Bermuda OFTEN ON A REGULAR BASIS. One of the activieties I do is to stroll your Botanical Gardens. I enjoy the lush foilage and rich tapastry of colour. The grounds and maintenance personnel are deidicated to preserving and enhancing this land in its conservation. I reside in Ontario. I summer and winter camp in the north country. Our ecology is vastly affected by ergo environmental projects and the fallout from toxins due to industry.
You Hospital wants to build on this beautiful conservation property. Hospitals are industries and will not be able to sustain life as you knew it and the balance of nature on this land. I know from Ontario experience and work in an ER in a rural hospital. Please take allok at other alternatives without jepardizing what little land you have on the Island of Bermuda

I do so hope that better sense prevails, and the new hospital will be built other than at the Botanical Gardens. As the Mother and Grandmother of Bermudians, many happy hours have been spent in the Gardens. A facility like no other on the Island.
